The bad part is the kids wont know till tonight. ..............:ball: He was 11 by my figures It sucks to loose 2 dogs in the same year. Old age sucks:rant:
Thats why I won't get one. Sorry Mike for your loss. The kids will take it the hardest. But they're always the most resielient. Sorry for the poor spelling.
Sorry for the loss, Mike. What happened? Does that mean no dogs left? Beth and Dana lost 2 cats with a short time of each other, last year. It's tough when you lose a part of the family, especially 2 so close together. I'll keep the whole family in my prayers. Take care, Shari
Tough thing to tell the kids about but they/we are ok. We have the new puppy "skylark" and she is very aware that smokie is gone. But we have 1 dog still .......the kids already told me to get another...
What happened? age? I didn't think he was that old... got around pretty good. chased a ball pretty hard core.
I love the fact we now have a few dogs (best freinds) names after our buicks! MY first dog is named Stage1GS "Stage" and the second is Crower Hotrod "Crower". Here is some pictures of them growing up condensed into 1 picture. Stage is the big guy on the right, and Crower is the princess on the left. Anybody else out there name their dog after their passions?
I feel your pain, I lost my dog a year ago May 17th. It was very hard, I grew up with that dog and went everywhere with her, so I can definetely feel your pain. Good thoughts your way. Also on a sidenote, I got a puppy immediately afterwards and it really did help me, I know you said you have another puppy. They really are mans best friends.
I know how you feel Mike. 2 years ago we lost 2 full grown dogs in an 14 month span (Max at 16 years old, folowed by Jim at 14 years old) as well as a pup (he lasted only 3 days) that was supposed to replace Max. After Jim passed on I really didn't want to get another dog to replace him, but soon found myself driving by the local dog shelter and eventually found a great female border collie mix pup (Jenny)that had been abandoned. A friend also gave us a male miniature collie/australian shepherd (Jesse)that they picked up at a local vet's office, and the two of them have a grand time tearing up my yard and raising hell with anything that gets near the fence. My advice is don't wait to get another dog. The wounds heal much faster when you have something new and playful to occupy your (and your kids)time. Hang in there, Randy
