I was devoid of a secondary choke pulloff. Got that on last week and the divorced choke is functioning as intended.
Having just a tick over 250 miles on the new motor + the week off = long overdue upgrades. First off, my Q-Jet issue has finally been resolved. Board member Rob Ross delved into it a couple weeks ago. I'll touch on that more in the feedback forum. For almost as long as I've had the car, I've had new rear bushings but never had the chance to install them. Frame braces as well that were (most likely) removed back when the ladder bars were installed in the mid 70's. Yesterday and today, I finally had the opportunity to do this and man, did it make a difference!! I used the PST polygraphite bushings. This project is nothing nice but it's done and the car feels a lot better.
Hit up a local cruise tonight. A ton of beautiful cars were there, which it's a result of another huge cruise being shut down for the rest of this season. As an aside, some teenagers were poking the bear in a BMW on my way home. That didn't end well for them.
The old dog track on 138 in Raynham. No razor this year. You should come next week. We can meet up in Taunton and go together.
I see Brett, it was at the dog track in Raynham. I have to head to my house next week for a new sewer line installation. If I'm back in time, and the weather holds out, maybe I'll go. How many cars were there? The police never came to shut it down? Your car looks great!
Yep! The lack of Bass Pro has them coming from all over the place. I'd have walked around a little more and taken pictures but honestly don't like to be too far away from the car if I can avoid it.
Update on this cruise night: The BOH in Raynham pulled the plug a couple weeks ago. So, like everything else in 2020, it's canceled.
I see Brett, that sucks. Thanks for the update. The last couple weeks the weather was iffy anyways, so I didn't contact you. I think there's a club in RI having some shows. I think they had a big one today at the "Geese" club near Twin Rivers. I see a show in Seekonk in a few weeks for their K9 dog or something. Maybe it will get cancelled, too.
Update: One of the things I unwittingly overlooked during this build was a properly setup ignition. I'm not sure how that happened but I'll blame it on over multitasking and 2020. I did install the Lectric Limited breakerless ignition but I overlooked the always important ignition curve as it relates to specificity of each particular build. After some very informative back and forth with long time Buick guy Dave Knutsen, I sent the distributor out to him for a rebuild/recurve. Mother Nature hindered my test drive last weekend but install and timing went fantastic. In fact, I barely had to adjust it at all to get it to 32°, all in at 2500 rpm. The weather looks perfect for this weekend, though and I plan on getting in some stick time.
Haha close! That was the lure at Wonderland in Revere. Raynham split time between the Chief and Rusty.
Thanks for clarifying, I only went to the dog track once in my life and it was quite memorable. I Guess the location wasn't! Your car looks amazing by the way and I have to ask, was the original engine AWOL?
Thanks! That greyhound track was my first job. Yes, original engine was launched during the mid 70's by 1 of 3 different fellas in their late teens who owned this car. How the original Muncie and 3.64 posi rear survived is a miracle.
This is me with two time all American Swedish Episode, late in 1989. Raynham was her home track but she traveled all over the country to compete.
