I am looking for photos of unrestored 1970 GS chassis and engine photos. 1971 and 1972 are needed also. If you have a photo and you know the plant it was built at that info would be greatly needed also. There are some factory shots from magazine test cars out there but they might prove unreliable for production cars . Thank You in advance, I hope.. sgrant3470@aol.com is my email address or you can post them here.

I have some original 70 GSX undercarriage photos if I get off my but. The one thing I take from it was the rear axle which was sprayed black from the back and almost a line across the bottom of the axle tube where it looked unpainted at the front. Assembly line worker must have sprayed it from the back and bottom and never turned around. I also have some cool 70 pictures of a 70 GS 350 in a 1970 magazine with some under carriage shots. In the rear the black paint was sprayed over rear part of tail pipes and shocks. Don’t discount the pictures as these cars were not touched by magazine guys. They would not paint them. There is even dirt in the photos. I can try and post those too.

I worked at Pierce Buick in R.I. . One of the make ready guys painted the front suspension components and the back of the rear end, tubes and center , rear sway bar also if it had one. They did not want rust showing as we were right next to a skanky polluted river. Toxic fumes rust stuff !

Here is a very original white GSX I had access too. Rear center section has almost no paint which would have been washed off by road debris. You can see the two paint orange paint marks. You can make out the Yellow N. It is an ON 3.64 rear. The O is pretty much worn off. IMG_2654.JPG

You can see the line on axle where black paint stops. This really proves a point. Cool stuff. IMG_2530.JPG

Green paint slathered on spindle. Don't get excited over gold sway bar sleeve. Those are replacements. IMG_4870.JPG

Orange paint marks on small brake line. I think there are two marks. This identified the line for a Disc brake car. IMG_4879.JPG
