awesome. Sorry been out on the road for three weeks.... Ill take them. I need 2 passenger side arms. For the 1969 GS 400/4 engines, are these all the same size? how much are you asking for them?

Unfortunately Im not blessed with Mechanical aptitude so Im not the person who is doing the work. This is my first classic car. My question is if the shaft the the rocker arms sit on is still good, will this be a case of removing the old rocker arms and replacing them with the new ones. is this something that I need to take to a machine shop and get done or is this something that I give to the mechanic and he can change them. I appreciate your expertise.

An old timer Buick mechanic will know, new guy's may have a hard time, and maybe put them in wrong. The number on the broken one might be different then the one you show. The one you show ends with a 2 ,that would be right side, uneven number would be left side. They are all left, right all the way.Anybody that knows better should chime in. By the way,I do have some, but you only need the one that ends with a 2.Bruno

The end caps are pressed on, I get them off by using a vice set just big enough to let the shaft slide through but small enough to catch the cap, the slide it hard against the cap and it usually comes off by the 2nd hit. then tap it back on after replacement. Or you can use the blue wrench to heat up the cap, but theres probably burnt oil in the shaft and you'll get smoke or fire.

I think if someone can get the valve cover off then they will be able to change it out as for the shaft after its out and dissassembled to clean you will see wear marks. If reuseing shafts be sure to brush shaft after getting caps off they hold build up over years. Best of luck
