Hi Gary, I originally posted some pics of the wagon. They are in the thread somewhere.
Sunday looks like the day I will do some'n even if it's wrong and it probably will be.

Marvin, where you located? I'm in So. Cal. Wagon is about 50 minute drive from me. So I told the guy with the wagon, you have to have it running and be able to drive it out from behind all the other crud blocking it. He told me, "my mechanic" got it started and the bell housing makes noise. I told him thats all good. I think his mechanic is an inbred. I saw him when I first looked at the wagon and I could hear the music from Deliverence in the background.

Hey 'Benderbrew', how's it coming along with the wagon? By the way, does it have a third seat and AC? Have you tried backtracing the owners to see if they have the seats and "soft" stuff lying around their places (let alone other stuff like papers, black plates, etc...). Wayne

Het Wayne. Spoke with the wagon owner Friday. He said he had gone by the chomre guy's shop and spoken with his son. Made an offer on the chrome/stainless etc. to the son who said he should get in touch with the Dad. Dad is never around as previously posted. Anyhow, He found the dad and came up with an offer of 600 on all the chrome and stainless, bumpers etc. Chrome guy said "Cash?????" And then said he'd try to find the grill and headlight bezels. I was supposed to get a call Sunday but didn't. So, I'll be calling the wagon guy this morning. This is a real P in the A...but still, maybe worth it in the long run.
The Wagon has only one seat in it and that's the front seat. The interior is missing, pads etc that cover up the open areas of the sides and tail gate. Not a problem there as I would just carpet the entire thing. On tracing the previous owners, well, wagon guy says he doesn't want to go there....But I did see the pink and it's good....the wagon is actually registered, but the wagon guy says he takes the 2006 calif stickers and moves them around on various cars he has parked on the street etc. Well now....ain't that nice. So the saga continues but I'll let all know what's the deal.

    Len,

I've owned several 65 SportWagons and still have a few parts in the barn. If you get the car perhaps I can help.

Hey, thank you Glenn. Wagon guy? Didn't answer his phone today so will try tomorrow. This is just one of those deals where I can "steal" the wagon if all things come together...I know the inside of the wagon has only one seat and none of the door panels etc., that would go along the ages. I wouldn't be looking to restore the thing, but more likely, slap a very potent BBB in it and have some fun. I will certainly keep you and the others informed. Again thanks for the kind offer of help, I will let you know.

One thing I do have is lots of exterior trim!

Probably at least (1) complete set of the rear sprotwagon stainless, enough to trim out all the windows, top, sides, and back...also some side glass, a couple of tailgaites, and several sets of doors...

If you get it home and end up missing something let me know.

Good luck on the deal. :TU:

Glenn, it looks like the wagon deal is gonna go. I've done as much bargaining to both parties, the guy that owns the wagon and the chrome dude. I'll pick the whole smear up this week. From what I remember it will need the front and rear light bezels and the grill. There maybe more. Not sure. How you fixed for them goodies?

The deal is done. Am picking up the wagon and then meeting the chrome guy this Wednesday....or the other way around. Chrome guy is only "there" between 7 and 9 and it's a drive for me, especially in the So. Cal. Traffic. Additionally, I gotta hide this vehicle from my other half. Now that causes a problem. How do I bring the car trailer home the night before so I can leave early enough to get the thing....without looking like I'm getting the thing? Anyhow, will keep all informed. The negotiated price seems very good to me, but unless I have the piink and the stainless/chrome, it's not a done deal by any means.I'll let all know Wednesday evening and I will let all know the final price paid. I will say this....STEALING THIS THING FOR ALMOST NUTT'N.

Darren, I gotta tell ya.... a while back my wife drove by my shop, (I'm retired and rent about 800 SQ feet six miles from home), to drop something off. She asked me who owned the car under the tarp parked in one of my two spaces. Well...."it's a parts car"...ya right. Also, two in my shop and one at a friends....There is no more room....

I duded it. Wagon is on a trailer, hidden from my other half. Also made the deal with the chrome guy. He says he's had that stuff for 5 years and the guy never came back for it. Got the bumpers and all the trim, nicely polished and bumpers rechromed for 6 hundred. The rig is missing some stuff, the tail light surrounds and bezels etc. No door knobs on this beast either, not sure about the interior. No grill or headlight bezels...but still. So I'll drag it down to my shop, stick it in one of my two parking spaces and cover it up for now. I'll snap some picks and post later today or tomorrow. So it's all good. Now if any of youse guys/gals know about parts for this thing, please let me know. It's a 65...Thanks in advance as always.
