Thanks Larry I've seen those. By the time I pay for it, the shipping, the duty and exchange rate I just can't justify paying that much for a plastic disc. I figured somebody who did a trans rebuild would have one laying around that I could get for cheap.

Do they not rebuild transmissions in Canada? Is the U.S. the only place you can get them? I'd ask in a transmission shop.

Yeh the trans shops up here are crooks and they won't sell any tools. They wanted $700CDN just to assess my trans that's not even opening it up, just to test drive my car!! They said it would be $1500 to "inspect" it and then parts and hourly labor from there, I told them to stuff there head up their rear end and start chewing :D

When I search for lip seal tools it comes up with all US sites even if I put Canada in the search criteria.

  8. Make your own.. it's just a circular piece of plastic with smooth edges

I was thinking that myself do you have any idea what the thickness of the plastic is? Maybe somebody who has one and doesn't want to give it up can measure it for me?

TexasT Texas, where are you from

No doubt. I cut mine out of a two liter soda bottle. Also can use a feeler gauge as a tool for the seals. I think .008 or so.
