It says "tribute" in the title of the ad, as well as "71" at end of line. Description states it is a recreation. Worth it? ($24,997).

I honestly didn't know what I was missing. Then I finished scrolling through the pics.

STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

Only took till like 80% of the way through the ad for them to at least show pictures that it is a "numbers matching" PONTIAC ENGINE lol Wow! Pretty color combo but jeeeeeesh

The underhood sticker even designates, and shows specifications, for a Pontiac engine. Strange. IF, IF, IF this car was special ordered as a Skylark pervertible with the Pontiac engine, it was a stupid decision to make it a GS clown.

No, I'm just not a Pontiac guy......as I said, "as far as I'm concerned". Your beliefs may vary.......

It's back up now. Other than knowing it is a Pontiac by looking at it and the sticker (surprised they show that), all it says is "non-numbers matching 455" now. Hopefully a new buyer is fairly knowledgeable and doesn't get duped.

Just talked with a fellow named Nick at the dealership and he contends that they didn't know it was a Pontiac motor. I'll bet someone knows. I suggested that they disclose in their listing that it's a Pontiac motor so as not to dupe a less than knowledgeable buyer. Very strange.

Looks as though some of the documentation is for a completely different car as well. A warranty card for a Harvest Gold / Burnished Saddle bench seat, GS350 hardtop. I really have to wonder about some of these dealers.

A classic car dealer should be able to identify what they are selling. If not by sight, at least do a little googling.

Questions only appear in the listing if THEY choose to post them. I have asked the questions about the motor, etc., and they have neither posted it nor answered my questions back to me.

Me thinks they be a tad shady.
