Let's talk rear sway bars

I jacked up my unrestored 72 GS Stage 1 today to put some wheel dollies under it and noticed the sway bar. So I went over to my restored 72 GS Stage 1 and looked under it and there is no rear sway bar. Which cars had them and which didn't? Did all Stage 1 cars come with them. Did some leave off when they restored it? Anyone got the answer?

 

Rear bars were part of the F41 option. Not standard on any Buick model, had to order the option.

 

What diameter bar was on F41 option?

So is the F41 package actually H6 (Ralley package) on the order form to the dealer? Where do you find the F41 call out? Is it on the build sheet?

 

Thanks, my Gold 72 GS Stage 1 did not come with the F41 / H6 option so that is why it does not have the rear sway bar.

 

Note that also includes a boxed lower control arm - needed for the bolts and to firm up the handling.

 

Anyone have a pic of one installed? Mine did not have the option but the PO put in boxed arms and has the bar, ready to install but no hardware. Thanks!
