My little one is 31 and his first car at age 16 was a 70 Stage 1 hdtp. I told him that the stage 1 was just like a gun , you need to handle it with care. He bought it with his money and the new tires he installed looked like the old one after 1 month. He told me around school, the saying was " Stay away from that cream buick, its bad", Its been in storage for ten years and needs a good going over, but in time he said it will be done !

Took a sick day today. Adjusted the valves (AGAIN!). All are about 1 turn out. Still have some noise, but I don't think I can do anything about it.

Attempted to balance the driveshaft via the shop manual method using 2 hose clamps. And I actually improved the vibration at speed! I'll pidgeon-hole it to get it better, but that's later.

She's washed and waxed, clean as a whistle. All bolts tight. New front shocks. Timing set to 34* total mechanical. I'm ready. I've been busy as heck the past 3 nights!

Looking forward to some runs on Saturday. Let's do some heads-up Buick guys! I'm praying to break into the 13s. I think it can. We'll see.

C-ya around 9:30 or so, near the concession stand/gas pumps on the pit side... NOT the grandstand/parking lot side.

Please let you son know about the Stage1 registry. We need to document the survivors. Thanks!

    Hi Larry -

He's already been in the drivers seat moving the steering wheel  . Where do these kids learn this? It was like, automatic for him to just climb in the car and start turning the wheel. When he grows big enough to work the clutch, I'm in trouble.

PS - He takes my keys all the time - He like the way they sound. Sometimes its an adventure getting the keys away from him or trying to find where he put them.
