I bought a fuel injection setup from Carmen about 15 years ago, and he was very nice and informative. I'd love to get him on this board to share info, and buy parts, etc. Does someone know him well enough to broach the subject?
Dan, I talk to Carmen at least once a week and have been up to visit him 3 or 4 times. I've tried to get him on this board and the Buick email list, but he just isn't into it. He is a one man operation and he just doesn't have the time. When most of us are sleeping He's out in the shop still working. If Carmen ever went on E Bay He'd become a millionaire! If anyone has been to his place and seen all the parts he has you would know what I mean. He would rather talk to a person on the phone,that way he can get a feel for what a person is really looking for. He Knows his stuff! Dan
Mr. Faso: National Treasure Dan, Carmen has a computer, but he is not on line. I doubt he will come on line, but I have tried a few times to move him in that direction. My last attempt was to tell him how well I have done on Ebay with a few parts, and what that could mean for him! I think the reason he is resistant is twofold. If you have called Carmen regularly, he is always working on something while he is talking. You have to keep moving to make a living in that particular line of work, and there is nothing else you can with your hands while you are typing. Second, I dont think he wants to take any more time away from his family because he has already committed himself to the business and takes calls day and night (I try to contain my silly questions for working hours). Going on-line could reduce a part of his lively hood and decrease family time. Another issue in all providers awareness is that they are at risk of attacks on-line from anyone for any reason. You can wind up having to spend time defending yourself for everyone on someones whim. I know one of the major Buick providers watched the forums very closely, but did not participate until recently for that very reason. I would hate to see Carmen in any conflict on-line! Cheryl
I understand the time issues, and am glad that a few have tried to get him on the web. I would love to see him posting replies to some of our questions or parts requests. I think that the real power of the internet is exchange of information, and Carmen is spending his time somewhat inefficiently(please don't flame me yet...) If he were to share his information here, he would reach untold thousands. I don't like to bother people unless I have to, and sometimes I don't really understand when I have a problem until I see people discussing it on another post. Also, I see time after time where people need parts that Carmen has, and he only ever puts them in the GSXtra. I was going through some of my old ones and began saying "holy S#$t "over and over as I saw stuff that I need now, and figure he must have sold it a long time ago. I know I am being somewhat selfish about wanting him on this board, but I keep thinking of the Dark Ages where all of the knowledge of the western world was hiding in monastaries with monks copying out stuff by hand...until Johannes Gutenberg came along. I think Carmen knows just what a great resource he is, and I know how willing he is to share. I just wish he would give it a try..... I think, like the rest of us, he would become a regular. When he is gone, so will all of his knowledge, and there is only one Carmen Faso.

Carmen is THE Nailhead man. Carmen is IT when it comes to Nailheads. He knows EVERYTHING there is to know about them and has bought and sold every significant thing that could be bolted, wired or even one offed for the nailhead. He sells and fixes all things nailhead and is very free about giving advice on what works as well as what doesn't. Guru is a great word for him. Overall, he is just an all around good guy.I need to give him a call.....
I even rang him from Australia! It was 11pm over there (forgot to do my calculations before I called). He pointed this out to me and proceeded to answer my questions in the same breath. Great guy - like most Buick folks. Bill S.
