Legendary Interiors? Any good? They won't respond.

I have sent many emails and questions to Legendary Auto Interiors and I have never recieved a response. I want to go with a swade type insert but look stock (help keep down the hot seat burn when topless).

I want to call them but if they can't respond to email from their web site then I'm not too sure about them.

Anyone use them for other than off the shelf? Leather? Custom?

    Legendary is the best.

But your concern is unwarranted. Get the stock seat covers and just fold the seats forward when you leave it in the sun with the top down.

That's what I used to do but I don't like the look of the car with the seats forward or with a towel draped over them. That's like putting a hat on my wifes nice blond hair. :pp

Why don't call them and iron out your concerns.

They will use other materials with their factory stock patterns... if that's what you mean by 'custom'. I bought some vinyl locally and shipped it to them to have my rear seat done.

Maybe they responded and the reply went to your SPAM folder. That happened to me before when I emailed an auto dismantler about a fender for my Skylark. I got a little peeved at the no response, after a week...and then found the reply in the SPAM folder. Gotta love Google.

or vice versa. I know where I work we get them from customers in our spam folder. it sucks. and our e-mail system now sucks it's outsourced to Bulgaria (our parent company is from Finland)

Call them thats what I did. They supplied me with my entire interior for my 64 convertible. Seats, door panels, boot.

I'm pretty happy with my seats that I bought through them about 5 years ago. They hold up well, but then again I only drive my car about once a week.

Good to see that no one has a complaint about Legendary. Had bad luck with OPGI and their PUI stuff.

I wanted buckets but not the square 64's or the modern look of newer seats. I purchase 67 buckets so I have to go custom on front to match the back. I would like to go with stock door panels but I can't find door handle arm rests so I may as well go custom if the arm rest is changed.

Anyone know of new arm rests for 64 bases and pads?

I purchased door panels from OPGI and the stamping looked great but they had different size buttons and the buttons didn't line up perfectly. The rear panels are different for power windows and OPGI sent me the standard panels and they are missing one button right in the middle of the panel. I asked them to send me new buttons so I could fix them myself and they said to send them back.:Do No:

I also purchased PUI seats covers for a 66 Chevelle from OPGI and they were fantastic but they looked like a Chevelle (and the backs wouldn't lock) so I sold them. I then purchased a set for a 69 GTO with comfort weave, they looked great but they were garbage. The covers didn't fit very well and the first time the car sat in the sun with the top down the heat pressed patterns vanished and distorted. OPGI did let me return them but that was many hours of labor that was lost.

If the armrests/bases are the same as long ones from 65, then there are no repros. You have to find the best set you can and/or restore a set.

Just put a towel on the seat. That is all I ever did with converts when I owned them.

Yep, the same ones. I have been collecting them over the past few years. I have a couple that are restoreable but not perfect. Cracks mostly, and then there's that plastic chrome job... :puzzled:

Used to keep towels in the trunk for that reason. Worked good, but with my wife and two daughters I had to keep a stack of towels.

Here's the response I got in 2008; should still be good.

Im checking out Legendary right now, looks like pretty nice stuff. But I'm curious, when you buy a seat setup for say, $500 bone, is that just the cover? or cover and the foam?

Just the covers. You will need another $200 bones or more for the foam. Be carefull on the foam suppliers (I still don't know about Legendary). Some are solid and flat. Others are contoured and comfortable. I added extra foam to my last set for the sides and the bottom to give the seat more pillowing and rounded smooth looks. My original foam was very good but extra foam gave them new fullness and support.

    About the arm rests.
I have experienced the same as everyone else, can't buy new ones.
I also own a 66 Cutlass 2dr hardtop, they have the same arm rests as a convertible. New chrome bases and new pads are available for the Olds, Fusick Automotive has them. They are different than the Buicks, and not as attractive IMO, but they do use the same paddle style door handles which are partially shrouded to the same degree as the Buick. I sort of thought if I was going to replace the Buick door panels with new I might use the Oldsmobile arm rests just because they are available new.
Just a idea to think about.

I wondered about the Cutlass arm rests. I was thinking about going Full size Chevy ones so it's nice to have another option to look at.
