This morning when I started the Skylark the front signals and gauge lights came on when I hit the brakes. When I got to work I checked the signal lights and the right one works fine however when I turn on the left signal the front right blinks also. This issue wasn’t present last night when I drove home. Any suggestions, hopefully I can dig into it Monday Thanks jaye
One of the front or rear bulbs has had the filament inside break off & touching the other filament & back feeding current. These are dual filament bulbs meaning there are two circuits through each bulb. Check the bulbs 1st. BEFORE doing anything else & BEFORE driving yourself crazy. Tom T.
What Tom said. I once had an Oldsmobile with lights, both inside and out, that were acting like they were haunted. The only difference in my situation is that I had just changed a bulb when all the problems started. Yes, I installed an incorrect bulb. So, I suppose the extra filament, much like a broken filament was the culprit. The correct bulb fixed all the issues.
Thanks guys I’ll check that on my lunch break UPDATE: Checked the brake light bulbs, one was out replaced , still have a problem. So I started taking all the brake light bulbs out. One had the smaller filament bent at an angle however both filaments functioned. As you guys mentioned the it was the one angled which was also touching the other filament. You guys are GREAT, thanks Jaye
