4 way hazard flashers did not become standard equipment in US autos until 1967. Before that, they were an accessory for some model years.

The 2357/2357a (amber) lamp is a direct replacement for the 1157/1157a lamp. There is also a 1157h lamp (halogen) that is MUCH brighter than either the 1157, 2057, 2357 lamp but puts out MUCH more heat and could damage the housing/lens of your lights. See: http://www.ibmwr.org/ktech/taillite.shtml for more info on each.

I've been experimenting alittle and this could be anouther inexpensive option to use in conjunction with the regular 1157's or led 1157's as mentioned above. These are flexible led strips from "Princess Auto". I believe they come in a variety of colours but they never had red in stock so these of course are amber..just an idea to share,...patent pending:laugh: ?

70sgeek drive it like a rental.

I bought a set from this vendor - he's extremely knowledgeable on LED and E-code lighting... Also offers various relay and wiring accessory kits for special installs.

So all in all i see a win win with the LED lights Low power consumption , Bright lights with much less heat . I did my Dash lights with Blue 360 led's love it , with the exception of the clock it is dimmer than the rest of the guages . Think i will have to add a 3rd bulb to it. I am thinking i am going to do the whole car with them ,
Are ther any tricks to get them to all work right the first time ???

you have any pics of these instrument panel lights you done up?

I'm still thinking about LEDS. I like the idea of the strips.. but I don't like the idea of taking my lenses apart. Knowing me something will break or snap or crack.. and water will never stay out...

I was thinking what I should do is just drill another hole and put 2 bulbs per lens instead of 1.

I converted my dash to blue LEDs and I love it. More than half of my original bulbs were burnt out so I could hardly see me gauges at night, but now they are very bright. Except the aftermarket tach I put in the clock delete- it only took one LED and in order to make it as bright as the others I should have bought a bulb that had multiple bulbs in a single housing.
