Has anyone had any luck converting their 5 3/4in sealed beam headlights into LED of any type? Looking to maybe convert all my lighting inside and out into LED. Thanks, friends!
I’m doing this now. Purchased the HELLA brand non sealed beam headlights. they take the H4 bulbs. I chose to run the 3 prong hi/low beam bulbs in all 4 of my headlights I also have the aftermarket wireing harness with 2 relays so the power is not running thru the switch. (Plug and play other then a direct battery and ground connection). I’m going out tonight to aim them.
How do they look? Doing this would work with any older car that had round sealed beams....or even later GM rectangular sealed beams.
guys - look at the post from @knucklebusted in Sparky's corner... I've made several of the upgrades with excellent results. If you convert to LED you don't need the relay installation as the LEDs don't require the juice halogens use (nor will they melt the connectors like Halogen...) No need to spend a fortune either... i used amazon parts for small $$.
Yes I did, and they are great. I got mine from Octane Lighting https://www.octanelighting.com/?gclid=eaiaiqobchmi98ycipun3givcbxach044qa5eaayasaaegiq2_d_bwe http://www.ebaystores.com/octanelighting/ First I did Halogen, then I put a relay system in the car. No change. Then I decided to put some bright lights in it. Did some research and found out led's use less juice so not as much heat. There they are.
