Thanks. I think it’s likely the nylon washer. It’s split like a piston ring and I don’t recall it being like that before. I’ll see if I can get a replacement. It’s been 10 yrs since I last replaced the filter and I don’t remember the split before
There are several types of gaskets depending on the type of fitting. One is visible from the outside like this, https://quadrajetparts.com/inlet-fitting-gaskets-extra-thick-nylon-pack-p-2221.html Then there are the gaskets that go on the end of the fitting threads and are not visible from the outside. https://quadrajetparts.com/inlet-fitting-gaskets-pack-p-124.html
The flared part of the line must seat correctly on the fitting seat. If it is cocked to one side, it may not seal. Make sure it is square.
Thanks Larry; Looks like the culprit is the 7/8" inlet gasket that's visible with the fitting in. I don't believe I have the internal, non visible gasket you linked on my 67 QJet (7027240). The OD & ID on my existing gasket which matches up with the specs on the 7/8" gasket, but mine is cracked, so I'm guessing its spreading apart when the fitting is tightened in, opening up an area that can leak. I will carefully reinsert the fuel line so it is seated properly. Thanks very much for your help, you guys are awesome!
