    Folks,

Just thinking of Vegas for 2003 and would like to suggest we contact Jack Bilger and/or Jon Whittington to find out if it will be possible to add a car show to this year's event in October. The goal is to grow the event and I think we'll get a lot more folks to show up if there's a car show included. There certainly is enough space at LVMS for hundreds of show cars and pitting for the race cars. Tons of fun for all.

I'll be contacting these guys to see if they might be receptive to the idea. If someone here is a member on the turbo board, maybe you could reach them and the turbo crowd on their list to get a feel for it.

    Thanks.

Gary, a car show would be really cool after driving from Ohio, I'll need a day of rest before the big race, beware westcoasters, were gunnin' for ya in 03" As of now I plan on making the trip out with John Schmidt and his crew, and I'll be draggin the 71 GS!

    Bruce,

I got an email reply from Jon Whittington a couple days ago. He says they tried a car show in 2001 (Inagural event) but no one was interested. That was when it was turbo only. He's not opposed to the idea but it didn't sound encouraging. I suppose we could have an informal show. ??

Jon also said we'd probably be sharing the track with Supras or other brand-x cars much like we did with Mustangs this year. For me, it was a non-issue as there was plenty of room and time for all. Of course, in the future, we might get enough Buicks to rent the entire track, but we're talking big bucks.

Hey Bruce, the quickest GS there this year was Sam's 12.40 car, then Dave Monson and me in 12.80 range. I plan to be quicker this year but still not below 12.0. Shouldn't be too tough to get around us with your big guns out there. There are couple ringers I've heard might be showing up out of SoCal though.
Then there are guys who only care about brackets and consistency and don't try to make their cars faster.. I ain't one of them.

Looking forward to it. I hope you flatlanders can make a Buick caravan/cruise out of it and show up in force with some V8 stuff.
I only got to see John Schmidt run one rip down the track. Kinda hard to watch the racing when tuning and all on your own car.
