    Erik, I think he said it's a 1973, so it's a Cuda, Barracudas were from 64 to 69 only.

That's not true, they did make Barracudas in the 70s.

With all the work you are doing and money you are spending you would have been as well off to put a built 455 in it, even the playing field.

Yeah maybe... before I bought the car, my brother had it. He bored it .030 out, put in the high comp pistons, bought the current cam, did some head work, etc. So when I bought it, I wanted to continue working on what was started, I've really not put that much into the engine since I bought the car, cam, headers, and the headwork I'm doing now. If I tallied up the engine work I've done, it would be in the $1500 range. Plus its going to be a strong 350 when I'm done spending that.

Buying a 455, especially where I'm from, isn't as easy as you'd think. Plus opening it up, machining the block... blah blah blah, basically building an entire engine, is not in my price range.

If I was starting at square one, and had a choice between the two, the 455 is the obvious choice. That being said, I love this engine, too many people have underestimated what this iron headed small block is capable of...

Think about how great it would be to beat the MOPAR big block with a Buick small block? haha that would be great

Well I've bought a spring/weight kit for my HEI, and I bought an adjustable vacuum advance canister, so hopefully I can get it dialed in around the 32-34* and see how it likes that.

If you've watched the Street Racer video, then I'll be putting in a cam the size of a donkey... leg.

Heads are at the machine shop now, so lets see how they come back.. he's familiar with the buick engines, he knew the differences without me telling him. Plus he's been in business for many many years and is probably the top recommended machinist in the city.

It sure would be nice to put the fear of Buick into some of the local Mopars! :kodak:
