I found information on the KB Stage III heads in one of their old newsletters. A guy named Al Dixon worked at Cylinder Head West. He ported the KB Stage III heads.
When done they were stamped on the end of each head CHW. They said they were good for 3 tenths and 2.5 mph faster.

Don't forget to subtract off TDC. May want to use a degree wheel to ensure you are at true TDC and BDC.

I hope that engine runs as good as it looks, cuz it looks great!!;)

Might have missed it in an earlier post but what car is the engine going in?

    Keep up the good work....

What do you all think of putting a distributor gear Oiler in the KB cover? It would bleed off some of the pressure and put oil directly on the distributor gear.

I actually have that new but don't want to mess up the timing cover as I have never drilled and tapped before but I will be installing the bypass on the back of the block

That was like.... FREE.... You just paid her for her time. That's almost as exciting as stagec3s x block.

Installed the engine over the weekend have a few other small things to finish, it ran for maybe 5seconds and the roll pin on the distributer broke (gear was free spinning), going to try another distributer one day this week and see what happens

Does the engine have the hi volume oil pump?

Yepper, look at the size of the spacer on the pump. bet he put in 50w oil too. that pin should not shear. Better evaluate problem before starting it again. Gear end clearance is probably tight too.

Used 10w30 think I will use the timing cover off the engine pulled that has the kenne bell booster plate that had good oil pressure and never had a problem with it

You could just pull off the spacer plate and gears ,install the stock gears and booster plate check end clearance and ready to go, fill cavity with vasolene

Wonder if the pump was primed first........it is possable to get stuff pinched in there with proper clearance.....I did it to mine once, itbturned with a drill but when I went to put the dist in I could feel how bad it was dragging when I went to turn it by hand

Was primed first untill oil came out the rockers , it did turn hard but thought it was normal for the set up
