That's right! I have just negotiated a deal for Ken to purchase a one-owner 27,000 original mile Buick Wildcat. I have the keys in my hand as I write this.

I will post pics here tomorrow.

Let's see... It is a little worse for wear and tear... it needs a boatload of TLC, but man! it sure is all there. 401 (that's the 445 Wildcat, right? 465 Wildcat was the 425ci?)

It is a very low optioned car. Crank windows, no AC or power seats. There is a little rust in the quarters. I still have to crawl under it tomorrow, but based on the condition I expect the floors to be solid.

It needs paint and some serious under-hood detailing, but it sure looks nice.

The interior is IMMACULATE! However, it does need 2 400 watt amps and a subwoofer to round it out.

    What a nice cruiser!

Ken's gonna be driving back to CT on May 6th in STYLE!

I'll throw a battery in it and get it running tomorrow and see what it needs.

Nice set of wheels, Mr. Ken.

One weekend, a can of mineral spirits, and paint bombs and it'll look brand new!

Ken, you have to find the Buick turquois engine paint in spray cans. And semi-gloss black.

Here is how my 1st weekend-warrior attack turned out (yes having the hood off made a big difference). Just unbolt a part, clean it, paint it and put it back on. Very easy and simple.

CARS, Inc has the green paint in spray cans, and it goes on really nice!! Best spray can paint I've found.

I used it in the 60's engine compartment this past season. This job turned out to me more than just a "detail" job, though. I got a case of the "While I'm at it's" with this car. It turned out better than I could've imagined. Now, I'm doing it on my 71 4-door as I type this.

    Yardley, you are DA MAN!!!

Yardley was up in Ct over Easter and over a beer I was lamenting the fact that I'd love to have a Buick Hooptie to drive around this summer. Something fairly low dollar that I could have some fun with. He immediately calls his brother and asks if he would like to sell a '73 Electra he has. Well, eventually his brother decided to keep it, but Yardley kept on going looking for cars for me....

Ultimately, he ends up scoring a great deal on what you see above. I never imagined I'd be in a 27kmi car; I was thinking more like 270,000!!! Jeff cut a good deal and is going to do some preliminary work to get it from where it is to his house.

Yardley, you are a true friend! I can't thank you enough!

I absolutely cannot wait to be driving my nailhead! :3gears:

Congrats on the find. That was my dad's first car. Same color too! You'll have to take me for a spin.

    No problem Paul!

Yardley just called me and told me it fired up no problem. No lifter tick and it idles smoothly. So far, all looks good and he's going to drive it over to his house.

While I was on the phone with him a mouse ran across the interior! Looks like some mouse traps are in order....

I feel like a kid on Xmas morning! :TU:
