My buddy just pulled up in a 2003 Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG! Somewhere around 450 hp supercharged V8. 4WD, and oneof the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. This guy says it is faster than his Viper and ZO6. He gave me a ride from 0-80 mph and I don't remember ever getting there faster. This thing launched like a mutha! I took some pics, but I don't know how to post them on this board. Awesome ride. Oh yeah, about $120,000.

Mark - That looks like quite a car!!! The HP #'s sound good - got any performance #'s?? 1/4 mile, 0-60, all that good stuff... The Z06 is quite the performer too...I've ridden in my former bosses car. Especially for the money - you could have 2 Z06's for the price of one of those.:eek2:

I was in Irvine, CA a couple of weeks ago, and drove by AMG! I thought it was pretty neat that there were quite a few brand name shops that I passed!!:bglasses: It's my understanding, that Orange Co. is one of the wealthiest Co's. in the country. Well...13.0@110 and a top end of 155mph is definitely pretty decent!! But...if they're gunning for Vipers and Z06's, they're bringing an overpriced knife to a gun fight!!:Brow: Having said that...being a supercharged vehicle, they should be able to 'tweak' some 12's out of those things (maybe better).

Well, it looks cool. But 120,00 Gs?? Have a friend who recently got a Yamaha V-Max wit a "few mods done to it". I used to ride a lot, so he let me take it for a spin. That thing has insane booster rocket type propulsion. I would get a V-Max, then go strip BMR boys paint off with $110,000 still in my account. :laugh:

A bunch of the rich punks at my school(Culver Military Academy - ever heard of it?) has those V-12 Mercedes. THose are quick as hell. Never follow one somewhere on the highway, I think that we were doing 115 when he started losing me...
I don't think AMG even gave 1/4 mile performance a moments thought when they started massaging an already potent vehicle. It's more like how will it handle that slight dip in the road just before that turn in the Autobahn when your still at full boost and clearing 130mph while showing your high beams to a 7 Series. Gawd that would be an adrenlin rush! Something I can only do on PS2.:ball:
Actually, I think my turbo car might take it in the quarter. When I get it into the 11's I KNOW it will!
Doug is right. this is a high speed cruiser with the best interior I have ever seen. Very sweet ride.
