A friend of mine is not racing this year so he let me try his Quick Fuel HP 950 out. If nothing else it looks pretty cool.

It came out of a circle track car making 600 hp at the rear wheels. I watched the dyno run on that thing and you cannot believe how fast the run was over with. Just a big whooooomp and it was over with (no thats not what my wife said  )

Anyway, I got it on and fired up. It is amazing how much different it sounds than the q-jet. Also looks frightening when you see all four squirters dump gas at the same time. Will finish hook up tomorrow and take it for a drive.

    otter It'll be done someday.

So, how did it go? I am looking @ a Proform 950 for my engine. Only reason I am going with a Holley style is because I got an awesome deal on a complete nitrous system that has a Holley bolt pattern. It will go on a TA SP1 so I have a single plane intake that should work better for the nitrous than a dual plane intake. Ebay has a speed shop selling them for $559.00+$10.00 shipping. I saved about $300 on the nitrous kit so I figure I will buy my first "new" carb. but it is still more than a week's take home pay so I don't want to get stuck with something that won't work well.

Doug, if the car's set up to handle it (and it looks like it is), you're gonna be amazed at how hard the mechanical secondaries will come on.

I have gone to the dark side. Devon is right the mechanical secondaries make a big difference. Right now it is still jetted pretty fat. I have my nephew coming over with a wideband O2 sensor and will work on the jetting soon. The throttle response is great and it pulls much harder from 5000 to 6000 now. It is true you cannot put too big a carb on a big block Buick.
