John Andretti, NASCAR, CART & Drag Racer has died after a battle w/Colon Cancer. Son of Aldo, Nephew of Mario & Cousin to Michael. was 56.
Yeah...that's a bummer. I always thought John was a clean racer and good for the sport. All you youngsters out there need to get a scope after you turn 45......early detection is critical with that type of cancer. Peace WildBill
Who else drove Indy NHRA NASCAR USAC sports cars. The list goes on. John dedicated the last years of his life to raising awareness of Colin cancer. His was discovered late., If found earlier he would most likely be with us today. It's simple guys. Bend over and live.
I can officially say John is the nicest man I have ever met. My favorite time was hanging with him in the garage area of IMS when he drove for AJ Foyt. He was a true gentlemen and will be missed by many. He fought the battle with cancer and still always had a smile and became a true advocate of colon cancer screening awareness.
