Hi all ! My name is Jean-François and I live in Quebec, Canada. This is my first summer owning a full size two doors Electra 1975. The car is in a very good condition except a few minor things like the paint that has chipped a little bit and the interior is mediocre at best. Other than that I really enjoy driving it - in fact that's my daily driver. The engine isn't a 455, it's an older 430. It's not knocking or making weird noise, the only thing that's really bothering at the moment is it's oil drinking problem. It smokes like a mac truck if I lay on the pedal... My take is that the piston rings are shut. I am planning on taking it apart next winter, So far this is what I've done to it : - 3 inches Doug's performance headers - Swapped the old heavy intake manifold for a Edlebrock Performer intake - Cleaned the Qjet - New HEI distributor - Minor esthetic stuff I don't want to create a race machine whatsoever but I do wan't to bump the power of this engine when I am going to rebuild it but I am going to see what really needs to be fixed when the engine will be tore apart. I'd also like to swap the iron heads for aluminium heads too.
