Yeah! I know....It was the generic photo from jegs site . However they also have them for the GM a body. I have done some research and it sounds like others have had good results from these.
Jeff,After reading more of the threads reguarding rear suspensions, I have decided to just go with boxed lower arms instead. Why did you scrap yours?
Steve You'll be better off with the stock/boxed lowers,There are guys running low ten's and quicker with the lower's in the stock location. What are your goal's?
Steve, I lost my sixty foot times with them. I actually tested them this year. I run my lowers in the stock locations and use adjustable uppers, which are also in the stock locations. This is on a high 9 second 9 inch tire car.
My goals Sorry for my late reply.... My goal is to run just slower than 11.99. 12.o's would be great. I dont look forward to installing a roll bar/cage in my car. I havent reviewed the rules closely but I understand that one is required 11.99 and quicker. I am installing a 9" ford 3.50 gears and a mild 455 10 to 1 compression big valve heads. I ordered adjustable boxed lower control arms from jegs. I plan on replacing the bushings in the uppers and installing new springs and adjustable shocks at the same time. I'll be kicking off the rear end swap next week when I get home. The parts are waiting for me.... cant wait. Christmas in january.
How about no-hop upper bars? Have any of you gained anything by using no-hop bars on a low 12 sec. buick? I'm still considering TA no-hop bars but don't want to waste money for nothing.
I really don't believe "NO-HOPS" are the way to go at all......Many guys are ib the 10's and on into the 9's w/ stock attach points. Re-inforce the stock stuff add an airbag in the RR and go. You shouldn't need more than that until you see low 11's or quicker,Then you might benefit from an "Anti-roll" device. Steve, I would say you could go 12.0's just about anywhere w/o a rollbar.
After reading the posts here I decided to just go with boxed arms and the stock attach points. I was going to box in my old arms, but since I dont have a welder, I bought aftermarket (jegs) boxed arms. The adjustable ones were only $20 or $30 more so I went with them.
