My brother was looking into a nailhead for me that was advertised as coming from an old dragster. Fully roller-ised and injected too it turns out. Darn thing was in Idaho!

Well, he finally gets ahold of the guy and was told that Tommy Ivo himself bought the engine. Well, if you're going to miss an opportunity on a nailhead, that is a good person to lose it to.

Mr. Ivo, PULLLLEEEESE say your gonna build and run a nailhead dragster!

I wonder if this has anything to do with the production of new roller-ised parts for the nailhead?

We oughtta get TV Tommy on the horn and tell him to surf over here for our enjoyment and his. I think he'd get a kick out of all of the attention he still gets for his dragsters. Heck, I don't even know what TV show he appeared on, but I've got a bunch of old articles about his rails. Dan

He seems to be a pretty reclusive guy. I know he is personal friends with at least one of the guys on the yahoo nailhead board. It sure would be great to see one of his old dragsters run at one of the Buick events. I think several of them are in the Garlits Museum.

Update. I talked to my brother on the pjone this weekend and he told me that the engine seller said he was told that Ivo was going to build a replica of his original street roadster. I think the original car is also in the Garlits museum. It was patterned directly after Grabowski's "Kookie Kar"(before it had become the Kookie Kar) and would have been the second fad-T style t-bucket car made I think.

Ivo ran some pretty impressive times with the car before building his first dragster.
