It's cool Bill! Love the dual quads. Not too crazy about the guy standing next to it, it looks like he's waiting for a tow truck!

Is that dual quads I see? I think you and Pat would look great cruising down the road in that.

Funny that he blacked out the tag in one picture, but not in the next.

That blacked out tag was the first thing Pat noticed LOL. Front tag is on top of the dash. She called him a "peckerwood"; I got a kick outa that! I couldn't believe the dual 4's myself. The valve covers look 430 ish and pretty clean but the black over-spray around the battery has me wondering. Theres a few other engine bay touch ups as well; maybe a poor attempt at cleaning it up? I see the fuel line coming up by the AC lines in back. Is this one of those infamous electric fuel pump units?

The other thing is the front bench seat with bucket seat backs (and a crappy headrest recover job!), and an armrest. It doesnt look like a 40/60 bottom, or power either (cant tell from pics). Is that a standard interior thing? Dash pad has a rug cover on it. Drivers side sail panel is in the trunk with the visors and rear view mirror on the back seat, with the courtesy light dangling. I wonder if the headliner is still there. Was that a rigid job with the ribs? Trunks prone to rust? I guess I have an inquiring mind eh?

Headlight actuators seem to work tho. Can the hood fit/be repaired for the dual Edelhosers? The Warshawsky velocity stacks dont do it justice, haha. Those aint my choice but at least Im toying with the idea. Those guys hafta howl when they are all open. Were they still an option for 1969? Theres a new air filter in the trunk; I wonder if Billy Bob did the swap.

Still on the hunt for a 4 speed car but the pickins' are getting slim in that $$$ arena. Too much too late?? At least this is local. Ive got Pat searching and she pointed it out. What a hunting partner! Maybe a $3K offer on it? Still have the B-turd as a trading tool as well. Thoughts or ideas?? ws

Thats a Stratoback bench seat..it'd be solid across, not 60/40 and most were power, the absence of a manual adjuster alongside the track (that I can see) means the controls are probably on the drivers door. This was the only bench seat style for 68 and 69 Riv's and Toronados as I recall....

The seat didnt show where Id be used to seeing the controls. I had a 1974 Twister and it was a regular power bench seat on the seat frame, but that wouldve been a GEN III GM model. Do those seat backs recline?

I am guessing the vented valance in the back below the window was painted? Not too keen on the vinyl top either, but doesnt look too bad. Both of the rear seat shoulder panels look not so good along with the weatherstripping.. Still tho, all in all it looks like a TLC resto. I can handle that. Just dont want a rot box. Needs one of those raised GS hoods like Briz has. Who's the guy that just moved that makes them. I think he's in N.C. now?? ws

Bill: You really have to put eyes on it to evaluate it. Don't drive something real nice to see it - he'll think you've got deep pockets!

I agree Geoff... I emailed the guy at 0130hrs today with a "trade" offer on the dorf. Appleton is about 40 miles from here. If we met 1/2 way, Ill trade even Steven and know if it made it that far it would make it home, totally AS-IS... same for the dorf. The kid on the crack phone in the pics looks like a dorf guy. Sorry Luke... yer "almost" a ford guy. The RIV and Caddy redeemed you LOL...

Just PM'd Briz, one of the 68-69 exspurts for a comment on it... ALL are welcomed needless to say! ws

Great riding cars. They really were Buick's exectutive hot rod back in the day.

Yeah, the vented piece below the rear window is metal. Its textured on a vinyl car and smooth on a non vinyl. A non vinyl top 68/69 Riv is super rare. Most of them came with the top. 69 was a record production year for these cars. Something like 52k made, but only 5k or so were ordered with no vinyl. Seat backs don't recline. That's the better interior

Theyre great cars , but parts availability isn't great. Even the basics like front end and exhaust parts expensive and hard to get. Hopefully its got drum brakes all around. The optional discs were 4 piston jobs with one off rotors (think unobtainium). Trunk space sucks! the trunk is very shallow because of the huge spare tire well. Pretty sure power seat was optional but tilt wheel came standard. They are definitely odd cars compared to the other models

This February will be 35 years that I've owned mine

I dunno, Bill, he's missing the requisite dorky glasses, bowl haircut, purple ball cap, and women's iron man watch for his "too skinny for a man's watch arms"....of course this was 1993 and styles may have changed since then.....

    Thanks GS66!!

Jason you never fail to amaze me... I didnt realize there was that much parking space on L.I. haha...Its a shame the FWD never went into effect on these. That wouldve been ultra cool! Does that GS have buckets and a consol?

Luke, can that be yer baby bro? If thats you, you mustve hit the stimroids pretty hard in high school. PROUD AS HELL werent ya! I was 38 in '93 and already well into adult geekdom. Tried to be a "bad boy" but it never flew; just stuck with being a 1%'r;) BTW... the guy with the '45 Gasser turned me down this morning... said he was a Ford mechanic when these guys hit the market...'nuff said?? ws

Geez' I don't know Bill! When I look under a hood and see dual quads I get all hot and bothered. Then I don't see the other stuff. I saw the hood scoop and thought...weird. Then saw the dual quads and thought "It's all good" !
