Oh don't get me started. I have heard this so many times it really drives me nuts. Last person that said it to me I went off on and just couldn't hold back. My buddy that was with me said well I hope you don't want that car because you really went at it with him. It just pisses me off to see nice cars rot away when people are NEVER going to fix them up. Besides that a lot of these people have NO clue what it's going to take to fix up a car. Its a ton of work and money.

There is an all original one owner stage 1 70 GS here in N.E.Ohio with 66,000 miles on it, and the guy says He's gonna restore it and it has been asked about for over thirty years and it is still sitting !

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Too bad too many cars fall into the hands of never-do idiots.

I love how they low ball you with an offer if they're asking to buy it, but they want Barrett-Jackson prices if they're trying to sell it.

Some guy asked if I'd sell my wagon. I asked what he's offering. He said 15. Thousand? Nope, hundred. I've got that in the transmission! If it were like the truck the OP posted, then I'd understand.

Don’t know the mileage on the one I know about but it’s solid and has a super desirable color combo. It’s all there but needs a full restoration. The owner says he’s going to get to it one day and thinks it’s worth $50K as it sits.

I can't tell you how any times I've done this, after several attempts to buy over years I give up. Then out of the blue I get the call, "if you still interested I'm giving you first chance to buy" I go to look and its a rusted pile of **** that he wants big money for.

Years ago there was a guy in Marshfield, Massachusetts who had a brass-era Velie touring car sitting in his front yard. A friend and I tried to buy it, but he was "going to fix it up" someday. Actually it was pretty good and didn't need much fixing. We tried to get him to sell it to us for about 15 years. Eventually it was so rusted and sinking into the ground that we stopped our attempt to purchase it. As of right now there are less then 300 surviving Velies. It would have been a great purchase, but instead it's another one gone. Grrr.

When I lived in Miami back in the 80's, early 90's there was a real 70 Saturn Yellow GSX sitting next to a house in Little Havana by a warehouse I managed. Eventually I watched it sink to the frame in the sand as I passed it twice a day to and from work.
I stopped twice to try and buy it from the owner but got the "no I'm gonna fix it" both times. One of the guys that worked for me knew the guy and he was adamant about not selling it.

I don't even try any more. Idiots can't be changed by facts and reason.

Then there's the folks that ask if one of my cars are for sale. I usually tell them, "Sure, check with my widow in about 30 years" or "Whatever you would offer, add a zero."

The one I'm referring to is same color as Chamberlains stage one! ( actually don't remember if the bucket seat interior was buckskin or black?) it has been awhile?

I'm talking about that guy who has refused big money. Then he cracks for a cheap price and your standing there watching the car you always wanted and you want to choke the dude.
