Well for me it doesn't, there's some others here that have more and nicer cars. Took me 50 years to get to this point so I thought I'd record it for posterity before things change. 69 GS 400 4 speed documented stage 2 70 GSX # 512 , wife's car 69 GS 400 4 speed convertible 71 GS 455 procharged 68 GS racecar Great Scat 70 GS race Car Thumper
Wow Gary! I know you have worked very hard to reach this unubtainium collection, but you are still a VERY blessed man! Thanks for giving me some incentive to get mine going ("if Gary can do that many I BETTER be able to get at last one going!") Don't know if you owned Thumper back in the mid 1980's but I was dumbstruck (okay....no, not that far of a trip for me! Lol) when I heard Thumper in the distance in the pits. Then someone with the GS Nats asked me if I would like to hand out time slips on the top end. YOU BETTER KNOW I WILL! YES SIR! I don't remember a lot of things but I still remember the total RUSH of standing beside that thumping BEAST handing out that time slip with my mouth hanging open as it motored on back down the return lane. GOOD STUFF! Thank you for sharing : ) Kindest Regards, Fritz
Thank you. The 73 is a #'s stage 1 , Im rebuilding the motor for a customer. The motor has never been opened up.
Thank you.Yes, that is a resurrection of the original Thumper. The original was destroyed when a woman ran a stop sign while we were towing on our way to a Buick Bash race in 1991.Never had a chance to hit the brakes,50mph, she was hurt bad and we rolled, thank God we had belts on, Sandy was still hurt, broken clavicle, when my son and I squashed her between us when we went over.
Super, just wondering how one stays on top of things to keep the fleet rolling. I sometimes feel overwhelmed with just one car . Very nice cars!
If you don’t have a “tubbed” Geo Metro with a 468 blown big block, I am not really all that impressed, sorry kidding of course awesome collection!
Its hard, especially at advancing age. I already sold a nice 71 cortez gold GS 455 #s car about a year ago, streetable high 11 car. Another thinning of the herd on the horizon.
Nice Collection Gary! And these are the ones you've kept. I wonder how many Buick have gone up and down that driveway of yours...............
