I just bought this 75 buick lesabre and it has the 350. Now i knew before i bought the car the carb needs to be adjusted. I can tell its idling way to high and smells rich. I dont really mess with carbs so im taking it to the shop. But i looked up the carb numbers and it says 17056240 qjet which im lead to believe its for a 455 cause it the 800cfm carb. Is this even the right carb for my car? Im just making this car a cruiser nothing more. The previous owner said its a new carb and i can tell by looking at it that it been rebuilt and from one of those mass carb rebuilders. Just need to know if i can keep this carb before i drop the car off at the carb shop by my house.

240 is consistent with a 455 carb which post 70 are 800 cfm. 350s are generally 750 cfm. Your carb could be recalibrated to work correctly with your 350, but I think it would need to be disassembled. Verify this with Cliff under the carb section.

By all means do not go locally. Its going to cost you a lot more, but the worst part is that the carb is never going to be right. There's a guy's here on the board that do a very good job at fixing those, you will never regret it.It will seam like its costing you a lot of money, but its a lot cheaper then going locally.Ask me why I know!Go with Cliff,or Everyday Performance, the guy from Texas.....Bruno.

1705 6 2 4 0, 1705 is a 76-79 carburetor, 6 makes it a 1976, 2 is Federal carburetor (not California), 4 is Buick, 0 is Automatic transmission. I hope it isn't one of those mass carburetor rebuilders, if it is, it is probably a paper weight now. Cliff won't even touch one of them, they are usually a disaster.
