Checking out a classic car classified magazine and came across this ad, says "1961-64 421 Edelbrook 4b.b manifold. New w/ papers. $225. + shipping" Now I realize he spelt Edelbrock wrong so was thinking he may have meant to say b4b instead of 4b.b??? Definitely looks like a b4b! For a new original b4b intake this is an amazing price correct!?! Help me out here guys as I will purchase it if this is the deal of the year! Here is a photo of the ad, with the phone number blacked out of course haha ;-)

It's definitely not a B4B and will not work on a Buick because it would not completely cover the valley. I thought it might be a P4B for a Pontiac but not 100% sure on that part.

Thanks for confirmation guys, I know it clearly states its not a b4b but people do make mistakes and I thought it could perhaps be a b4b, had to make sure, would hate to miss out on a score of a deal.

It might still be a great deal, just not for a Buick. It is an early manifold because it has the notch in the divider for a three barrel Holley.

It's a Pontiac, It'll work on any Pontiac block except for the 301.

Pontiac 326 through 455 all had the same external dimensions, there was no distinct "Small" and "Big" block. The 301 (4.9L) was a last gasp low compression, lower deck emission motor that saw duty on 77 through 81 GM RWD products. Had heard once it was scheduled for installation into the 82 Firebird, but the "corporate" 305 Chevy engine was used instead.

It's a common misconception that all Pontiac blocks are interchangeable since they are all about the same physical size, but actually there are lots of variations over the years that prevent heads and intakes from being interchangeable.

    For Pontiac blocks the years of interchangeability are 1955, 1956, 1957, 1959-60, 1961-64 (Full size V-8), 1964-69 (Tempest & Grand Prix V-8), 1970-79.

    The years of interchangeability for Pontiac intake manifolds: 1955, 1956, 1957-1958, 1959-1960, 1961-1962, 1963-1964, 1965-1971, 1972-1979

notice how the thermostat cover lays flat on this as opposed to the Buick which goes on the front of the intake too..
