I need to replace the cracked fan shroud on my 69 GS400. I came across someone who has one out of a small block car, but he isn't sure if Buick used the same shroud for big and small block motors. Does anyone know? I know I can just find one from a big block, but now I am curious as to whether they are interchangeable.
Thanks Larry!! Unfortunately, mine is cracked in a few places. A prior owner hit something with the front bumper and it cracked the shroud in a few places. Its zip-tied down and is fine now, but it's on my list of things to replace.
I wish I did Larry. Unfortunately, there are some chunks missing at the lower portion and a missing mounting tab that make a humpty-dumpty type of repair impossible.
Thank you! I may still try to find a decent original one. Not sure yet. My car is a driver and not a show piece, but I am trying to use original parts when I can do so reasonably.
I would still contact Jason. He is very good at restoring them, and sometimes, you can use pieces from other shrouds that truly are to far gone.
