Picked up a nice set of Deluxe carriage SBs for my 67.
They are Black. Yes I know black will look fine. Car interior is the dark metallic blue. Can you dye the black to blue?

If they were tan I know dying to black is plausible.

I do not think it will work, not from black to blue..

I had a buddy who tried dyeing seats and belts once. The dye began to wear off pretty quick. I don't think it's possible to dye something that moves and bends around so much.. kick panels and door panels are a different story.

I tried it several years ago on a set of belts for a Regal, Medium blue to dark blue. The trouble with thoroughly cleaning the belts (and I knew that they were NOT harshly used E/G: no food spills, etc, just normal use soil) was a pain but needed. I used RIT dye, and initially they looked good, but first summer came around, and anytime the belt contacted sweatty skin (as when you first get in the car and start it) it would transfer a little blue to you. So I'd say NO don't do it.

I've dyed green to black, blue to black, and red to black, and saddle to black. When done, they still have a little bit of sheen of the original color, but they sort of match. Black to blue might work if you bleached them out first, but that would probably affect the strength of the nylon doing that.
