The instrument panel is complete. I was thinking next i would do the headliner, then steering column, glass, weatherstripping (or this then glass?), door panels, wiring, carpet, consolette, seats in that order. Does that sound right? Thanks.

You can certainly change the order but this is how the factory did it.

They first put in the body wiring harness and carpet underlayment, as well as the firewall insulation pad. Then the outside weather stripping for the side windows and the headliner.
Next came the side glass and it was aligned. At this point they installed the rear shelf board, and the headliner side pieces that cover the ends of the rear shelf board. Next the rear carpet only was installed. Then the rear (and possibly the front) door panels were installed, and finally the rear seat was installed.

At this point the completed "shell" left Fisher Body and was sent to final assembly.
Here Buick assembled everything on the firewall, including the column, before installing the front carpet and then the front seats. (The front seats were one of the the last pieces to go in, so there was enough room to get everything else in without being a contortion artist.) Your consolette would of course go in before the front seats.

Now, depending on your model car, and whether it is AC vs non-AC, you may have to install the kick panels before the parking brake assembly, but you will figure that out.

    Hope this helps.

PS. Had to fix this a little but it should be accurate now.
