uzzled: I have a small 8 cyl nailhead i forget the CID. Was it a 301 or 310? But anyway what is the exact name of like the green blue kinda color that the engines are painted? Thanks much. Scott

Thanks Roberta. I really appriciate your help. As soon I muster enough $$$$ to get my engine rebuilt ill buy some of that paint.
By the way, the 300 is a nice motor, but a nailhead, it's not! If memory serves correct, the base engine was the V-6 225, the 300 is the same piston/ring/rod combo, with 2 added cylinders. In '64 the 300 had aluminum heads and intake, and came in the 2 and 4 barrel versions. Not sure about interchangeability for your '65. The 4 bbl was a spunky 11:1 compression ratio! The 300 derived from the famous all aluminum Buick v8 215 engine. Your 300 with 2 speed automatic is a durable setup for your Skylark, and parts are readily available. Steve
