My car came with an old top boot when I bought it. but I do not know how to install it right. Found some snaps around the seat, but how can I attach the back part to the trunk?
Don't tell me I have to slide the plastic pads under the chrome moulding around the well and damage the painting and the moulding !!!
Don't say too that I need to open the top first...

Or am I missing some elements on the trunk ?:Do No:

    Thanks for your assistance.

Use a spray wax like Quick detailer. Set the boot cover in the appox. position. First make sure the area is clean. After spraying the wax around one half of the pinch weld molding start the first tab under the molding. Each tab will slightly raise the molding for the next tab. When you complete this process secure the front with the snaps.

i have 2 parade boots ... i have considered throwing one ebay and put in the add that the winner can have it in any color they want and i will paint it with dupont base/clear and include all hardware. i thought it might help it sell close to a grand.
they go for over 600 bux alot without the car hardware.

my brother and i are trying to figure out a way to modify the one for my car so that it latches down with 2 or more hood or trunk latches that would make it more difficult to steal.
maybe make it with a cable release from inside the trunk.

they are way too easy to steal.:jd:

the last pic from the OM.

if the velcro stuff that holds the front of the soft boot wears out ... fix it or you can catch a good gust of wind and destroy/kink the belt trim on the car as the thing "parachutes" (uuuuh, so i have heard. )

a friend of mine was driving one of her 74 verts in TN last week and a gust of wind yanked the left side of her hard boot right off the car.

    Thanks for all this clarification.
Yuk, you are a mine of science !!!:TU:
I would have bid on the parade boot should the shipping cost + customs taxes to Europe for such items not doubling the price.
Let's put the soft one first !

WOW! I've never seen an NOS parade boot...

I'll definitely stick with the sfot boot, until I can score a deal on a hard one.

Good luck with the boot Jean-Luc, with a little patience and care you will get it installed w/out damaging le paint.

That looks a lot like my old Centurion but my top and interior were blanc [white]

One additional suggestion. Lay the boot cover in the sun for a while before installing. It will soften and stretch into place much better.

Thanks guys for all these advises. I managed to put it on a rare sunny day. Perfect. Now need to dye it in black, as mine looked like a clear brown one that was painted in black...unless they are all the same ? And obviously, the black paint goes out in some place.

    Scissor Top Tonneau Cover/Boot

I came across this while looking for a parade boot. :jd: This turns any scissor top into a two seat sportster like the TBirds. The coolest part is that you can raise your top with this parade boot installed. I hate the idea of constantly removing, storing, and installing a boot I'm saving up for this one. Let me know if you want one.
