:confused:To Jim B. or anyone who knows, I got a used girdled pan and I need to know the correct way to set the bolts that push on the main studs. I have the pan on with ARP main studs and made sure that that nuts and studs had room between them and the pan. I had heard 20lbs of preload so I tried that and worked in steps up to 20lbs and after wards I checked some of them and the first ones were looser than the last ones. Is 20lbs to much? Or do I need to keep going over and over them until the all are the same? Thanks

You need to retorque the preload studs several times until there is no more change in them, then tighten the jamb nuts.

I usually go 15 to 20 foot/lbs on the preload studs. Jim Burek
