Hi , is there more than one package tray model or only one that fits 68-72 ? Last time I try to get one here (buckskin interior) it was BO . I was asking for the "Deluxe Package tray" . Seats goes on and off well on mine Best picture I have of the hooks
That made me chuckle:laugh: . You cant appreciate the humor until you've actually tried to remove it.
I agree Jason, this is all too funny. I have actually removed these myself with little effort and also other times had fits even with myself being 180 lbs and friend weighing 230 and both of us having to revert to the hammer and long screwdriver method. One time I even pulled something in my upper chest neck area trying it by myself 2 years ago and it has never quite gone away. I hate this job.ou:
Where in Jersey are you located??? Back Seats can be hard to get out. I had a hard time getting my 72 back seat out and I have removed many back seats. Each side of the bottom section is hooked in place. Like stated push down and back. I always un-hook one side at a time. If you are still having trouble. Try and pull the seat up a little bit from the front and look inside to see where it hooks. I had to do that with the 72. Bob
i have never had any problems removing & installing, several times, the rear seats (back & base) in my car.
Yeah, and the thing is, if the front seats are in, you have no room to swing a mallett to hit the monster screw driver. Whoever designed those seat mountings must have NEVER had to put one in. I've never seen a more stupid mounting technique in my life.
A do install my packing tray in my 68 this afternoon ... hope those pics would tell some thousand words ! When I buy my car , previous owner custom made the package tray , never saw how the original looks Step 1 : get a car who need a new package tray  Step 2 , no tools required Step 3 , (2x 7/16 bolt on the bottom of the backseats) Step 4 , (ashtray panel) only 4 screws Step 5 , rear door panel , you need to get window crank and sail panel light out before unclip the panel Step 6 , get rid of the old package tray (keep it for mesurement) Step 7 , take the new package tray out of his box ! (and time for a beer) :beer Now the fun begins !!! Try in , cut , try , cut , try , cut ... repeat a couple of times and then :idea2: .... it fits !!! I did use a foam wheater strip (self-adhesive) under the tray to help to fit better behing the window trim (no gap) Before: After : Before : After :
