On my 71' Skylark restoration I purchased a large welding cable for my battery to starter wire, ten foot of it at a cost of 113 bucks. Got all kinds of power to the starter but, too stiff to cut and route through a disconnect and too large for a battery post disconnect. Is there a way one can rig up a kill switch and route into the console out of site?

Well if it's an automatic with a console you could create a kill switch using the neutral safety switch circuit. It's right in the console and wired with a few pull off connectors. It's easy to wire a kill switch into the circuit path without tearing anything up. If you open the switch the neutral switch circuit will be open and prevent starting. If the switch is closed the car will act as normal (including the switch itself -- so it still serves its primary safety purpose). It's not perfect -- you could still hotwire the car if you are determined but I think a fair number of your most likely joy riders or thefts of opportunity might be thwarted. If someone is determined none of these kinds of things will stop them... hope that helps

Hello do you happen to know what color the wire is? I want to add a toggle. To cut off power. So I don't have to pop my hood and unhook batt. Every day. Thank you.

    The hot wires are purple.
