John Everett asked for it and we fabricated it...a working gas pedal for this GM 8-71 V-Blower...where none existed. John's plan for the upcoming Pomona event November 17th is to fire the car with him in it and the body down and now he has all the controls to do so...magneto switch, fuel pump lever, starter button...and now a working pedal assembly. All I'll have to do is give it a nice healthy squirt of gas down the hat and stand back, lol! You can see just how tight it is around the scoop...careful consideration was needed in keeping everything as close to the hat as possible. Return spring still needs to be attached, we'll run a button-head 10/24 x 1" bolt the opposite way and attach the spring there with a small bracket...keeps everything tight.
Thanks John, Tell Dave thanks also. 1 month from today I'll be flying home after the Pamona event. That will start the winter wait, looking forward to the east coast run beginning in March...
Dave really is a craftsman as you know,he like you has great vision in seeing the unseen and figuring out how it’ll all go together...lucky to have him here by my side. 2019 will be very cool, looking forward to showing the car off
She will never run full bore down a track again but that car makes a visual and sensory impact...... Looking forward to next years east coast run
The plan is to base the car in Virginia next year and run it out of there, trying to make as many Buick events as possible. We’ll start the season with an ultra rare 2nd appearance of an early flip-top center-steer Funny Car at a concours d’ elegance, this time it’s the prestigious Amelia Island event, second only to Pebble Beach...simply honored to be considered and invited,Ingenue returns to the manicured lawn to belch nitro and smoke out the Bugatti crowd. One week later, we’re at the 50th anniversary of the Gatornationals to help celebrate that historic track,NHRA is really promoting this event so expect it to be off the hook! Haven’t laid out much past that at this point but hope to have a clearer plan soon...we’ll be coming to a track or event near you so stay tuned and follow along on my site for the latest updates www.buickfunnycar.com
