Thanks for the link Shawn. Will post a video soon running with the body down.
I was the one in the car for the video. Kind of funny having them hand me the camera for the inside perspective.
    Thanks again

Just been over the top as usual with Ingenue...every time we take the old girl out we try to represent Buick in the best possible way...we are truly living the dream!

DonĀ“t get me wrong, because I love seeing the car - but the day you truly live the dream will be when you cross the line at full throttle :)

Jan you do understand the last time this car ran across a line at full throttle was 1970-71. We are at the last surviving member of the teams house now. To see the look on his face when he sat in the car for a fire up yesterday was pretty good.
I head to Maine today to get the car ready to go to New England Dragway for the Nationals in 2 weeks.
I go across the line at full throttle often around 200mph and many times 40-50 mph faster than this car ever ran. I'll still say this is like living a dream also because I helped get this piece of history back to the track in front of the crowds.:)

John, I know and it would be a damn shame if anything happened to the car. I will look forward to see it in Cecil.

The funnycar just scooted through NJ, NYC, and Conn. For the first time in many moons.
    Now north to Maine.
Jan see you in the fall:)

How did the car get it's name? It doesn't look like an innocent young lady.

Great story there actually...Steve Malise who co-built the car with my dad and drove the dragsters from their Brooklyn Speed & Machine speed shop was married to a French-Canadian woman and it was her that coined the name.

It means a young or innocent girl unsure about the world and I guess she associated that with the newly built funny car.

I was 10 when she was built and as a kid, I thought that was the stupidest name ever for a race car...was thinking along the lines of Pure Hell or Color Me Gone...now those are cool names!

Well fast forward 50 years and it all worked out in the end...everyone loves Ingenue!

Color Me Gone has always been my favorite name for a funny car, but a '67 GS 400 will always be my favorite shape for a funny car. Nothing looks better IMHO.
