I had a brief look under the ditributor cap and saw that a Mallory Prefrormance Module 6001M is installed.
I cannot find any information about this particular part#.
Any hints available from the gang here?

Thank you Larry, so that is basically a module to replace the points, which was installed into the stock distributor?
So nothing to worry about, as long as it works (no maintenance)?

I've used this particular unit in my convertible for over 20 years. I did have one go bad in 1997 due to a voltage spike. You may want to add the power filter to protect it from a voltage spike. The filter is available from Summit part # SUM-830440 about $40. It plugs into the 3 wire connector between the distributor and coil.

Thanks so far, I will check if this module was already installed by one of the previous owners. If not, I will get one.
