    Hiya Guys and Gals ~

I need a set of head and intake gaskets for my stock 64 300. I no longer trust the parts stores interchange on my car, so I thought I'd try here first. Does anyone know FOR SURE who has a set of gaskets that actually fit without having to go through the trial/error routine?

The back story on why I don't trust the parts stores, including NAPA.... Their catalogs do not show the correct radiators- they don't seat into the radiator support correctly. More recently, I tried THREE DIFFERENT starters from NAPA + looked at a couple more (from other stores) and they DON'T FIT a 64 300 engine. They all appear to be using the same interchange and wrong parts. Ultimately, Jamie saved the day. So there you go.

    Anyway, your help is appreciated.
    Cheers
    Jeff in Kent WA.

I do the same, Rock Auto unless I need or want it that day. Here’s an example of the price differences...
Fuel pump and sender assembly for 01 Safari, Advance Auto 287.00
    Rock Auto 85.00

The last 300 gasket set I bought had intake gaskets for 64 and 65 in it.

Thanks Guys, yep. I've used Rock Auto in the past. I'm just a little gun shy because the local auto parts stores, even NAPA (whom I've used for years), can no longer be trusted with their parts interchange numbers, per my examples above. If everyone is on board that Rock Auto will send me the correct parts, then I'm happy to do business with them again. I'm also fine with walking into a local store if I know they have the correct part, even if it costs more. More than anything though, I just want to make sure I have the correct parts BEFORE I start taking things apart.

    Cheers
    J ~
