Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

This car is going to auction at Mecum in May. Ad says it has a 45 in it but there are only 3 pictures available. Does anyone know the the car and/or maybe more details? safe_image (2).jpg safe_image (1).jpg safe_image.jpg

Will be at the Indy Auction on Wednesday afternoon but this car is scheduled for Tuesday so I will miss the sale. Several nice Buicks going Tuesday. Not sure what the code 'R' stands for unless they are going to try to work them in during the 6 days. Now they say 2000 cars will be on the auction block through Sunday. That is two thirds of Kissimmee's 3000 cars.

Should be fun looking and not bidding:rolleyes:

I sold Jon that car back in the 2009 time. The brown interior is what tipped me off and the wheels clinched who's car it was. When I sold it to him it was a daily driver in nice condition inside and out. There are multiple threads he started about it back then.

He originally sprayed it in an factory-ish color:

    Engine info:

Then one of the last when he changed the front end and re-sprayed it to the current color plus interior:

Jon hasn't been on for 2 years now so I don't know what he's up to. I believe he moved down to Florida from Ohio last I heard from him. It would be interesting to find out how the car made it to the auction.

Hey Mike, just looked through my junk mail and saw your note about my car. I swear this thing is making me famous! I get email from all over about it. Guess I should build another one. That is a fun car! I just had too many toys and projects and had my fun with it. Has this auction happened yet? Wonder what it will go for? I sold it for $10K on eBay, he resold it for more than that and it sounds like it is getting flipped again. Ha! So what's new? I am living in Tampa now, so you were spot on!

    Jon
