Thank you all for your precious information.

    I ordered with ta performance:

    - camshaft TA25: 401H.480"-218'/.495"-228',110'

    -TA 1440 Stage 1 springs

    -16 adjustable pushrod single : TA_1428-401 5/16" 401 Adjustable Pushrods
-single roller timing set: TA_1524NH 401-425 9 Key Single Roller Timing Set

-pair of TA_1720NH 364-401-425 1400 DEGREE HEADER GASKET

    - pairs of TA_1725C 401-425 steel head gasket

    Order with russel martin:
    -1966 intake quadrajet
-1957-66 HP intake gasket, block or restrict exhaust heat from intake

    - carb plate and gasket set for the 66 q-jet carburator

It remains to find the carburetor quadrajet 4MC, I do not find it!
Is it possible to install a newer qudrajet, like this one? http://www.summitracing.com/dom/parts/urm-3-3423/overview/make/chevrolet/model/corvette

    Thank you for your help!

Wow, that's quite the shopping list!

Contact Mark - Carmantx here on the board. He builds Qjets. Let him know what your setup will be and he can custom build one for you. Will be much better off than purchasing a generic one from Summit.

Good luck with your build. Looks to be similar to what mine will be except I am going bigger on the cam since I plan to do porting work on the heads and intake later and build a set of headers. All which will play into my cam choice, whenever I can make up my mind that is.

For the carb, also try Ken at Everyday Performance (Techg8 here on the board). He built a great carb for me and was able to integrate the 66 style throttle arm to be able to keep my transmission kickdown switch functional on a later APT Quadrajet.. He has a thread in the vendor section.

Hey, Frenchy,,, Check out my list of cheap tricks,,, and the other sticky on the Doc dual plane mod.... I have done all those and they work....
I am Cajun French/Choctaw Indian from Louisiana.... cant speak French much,, cant speak Choctaw,, heck,,,, cant speak English for that matter.... :Brow::laugh:
A ''doc mod'' on the 4 barrel intake will make if flow as good as the qjet manifold,,, and you already have that... I like the holley carbs... they run good in all sizes and get good mileage... but,,, dont neglect to ''open up'' the air cleaner assembly so it will accomodate the bigger carb.... you cant get any more air in than the air cleaner opening will accomodate....
    right off the top of my head the things that will help performance the most is;
    cold air intake system
    doc mod the intake
    bigger/better carb
    recurve the distributer
dual exhaust with portmatched exhaust manifolds and 2 1/4 in. pipes all the way to the back bumper...
lower the differential gear ,,, 3.42 or lower....
''switch pitch'' trans if you dont already have it...
run the car as light as possible.... 100 lb.. reduction is 1/10th in the qtr. mile....

    Later,
    Doc

yeah,,, Frenchy,,,, I dont see why not,,, some of the qjet boys says it will.... so.... talk to Rhett,,, or some of them.... but be sure to leave the center divider that runs from the front to the back in.:Smarty:.. that keeps the torque high....I sold all the qjet manifolds that I had and just use the square bore types.... because my favorite carbs are the holleys.... The 3 barrels to be exact.....

Beautifull car in the video.... gotta love that nailhead sound with open exhausts,,, sounds a lot like mine....

Hey,,, Frenchy,,,, not to start any controversy, but,,, on the street,,, my nailheads run best with the intake manifold cross over heat .... pull cold air in from the outside,, yes,,,, but keep the heat in the manifold... you have to have it warm enough to make the fuel ''flash'' into a vapor , so it will burn... cold air coming in makes it burn better,,, and the warm metal walls of the manifold makes the liquid fuel flash into a burnable vapor.... :Smarty:
Nailheads, have ''divorced'' intakes,,, so they run a lot cooler than the later model engines... about 127 deg... with the heat in....

NHFrench - The Doc Mod worked on all my manifolds, square or spreadbore. My methodology at the time was kinda flawed, but I remember saying gained .2 and 1 mph from the mod. Either way, it was a noticeable gain. I especially enjoyed my Q-Jet DM manifold, that was a good runner for the effort involved.

And as Doc or anyone will tell you, I like the Q-Jet set up the best.. that could change when I get a chance to try Doc's 3 bbl (but I'm pretty stubborn) One thing Doc told me and I can back up, you cant throw to much CFM at these cars. An 800 CFM Q-Jet is a great way to do that too!

Doc is also right about manifold heat. You can block it at the carb pad, but not at the heads. If you do, you'll have a huge flat spot in throttle response, at least in anything less than 21C weather.

Keep us posted - love the video production work!

It's really great to share your secrets and your knowledge, thank you !!

I restored this car there 5 years now, I love buick muscle and sound of big block!
To tell you, you have to be crazy to ride with a muscle car in France, as the price of gasoline is much more expensive than at home! And is severely taxed when importing spares parts. I'm crazy but love it! lol

Same here in Denmark.. Just paid $315 for parts that in US cost $130 because of taxes and more taxes.. Need the parts, so nothing else to do than pay :/
