    Poppaluv I CALL WINNERS!!!

Hey guys, I'm lookin' for an engine builder somewhere down south preferably around New Orleans. I spoke to a builder locally who builds just about anything you can imagine from 3.8's to blown off-shore race boats. But during our conversation he asked about the term "Nailhead". When I explained why that was he gave me a weird look and responded "naw I don't think that's it". For a guy quoting me a $ of $3,000 (with balancing, blueprinting, yadda, yadda, yadda)
I want to make sure he knows what he's doing. I've been told if you have never rebuilt a Nailhead you could(will) destroy the block. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanx in advance,
    Jason-Erik:confused:

Just my opinion, but if the guy had to ask "what's a nailhead" - I'd turn around and RUN!! The guy may be real good at what he does, but I don't think I'd want to be his 'learning curve' on nailhead engines! :Smarty:

He'd probably have it running backwards with #1 on the driver's side.

That's exactly what concerns me . With the luck I've had, you'd think I was Mousilinni(sp.?) in a past life.:ball:

I would get ahold of Jim Burek (Buick 535) on this board! I'm sure he can help you out - or at least recommend some place, if he's busy.

Just send him a PM or email - if he doesn't see this thread.
