Impala or Not @ 2003 West Coast Nats Las Vegas? Here's the deal: Jon Whittington, who heads up the (Buick) West Coast Nationals in Las Vegas (Oct. 3-4, 2003), has asked if we V8 Buick folks would be interested in racing B-body Chevies, aka Impalas, at this year's event. Jon says it would put more cars in the "V8 Bracket" (Turbos Elim separately from the V8 Buicks) which would mean a better payout. Of course we're hoping very much to see a LOT more V8 Buicks there than the 8 we had in 2002, which would also raise the payout. We will be sharing track time with F-bodies, B-bodies, and possibly even Vettes and Vipers. Last year we shared track time with Mustangs but ran separately. There was no limit on track time; we all had as many runs as desired, as far as I heard. Track hours will run late into the night and early morning - that's right, until 2am Saturday morning and 11pm Sat. night. It sounds like Jon doesn't expect a large number of Impalas on hand, much like the V8 Buicks in 2002, so he's trying to get more competition (and $$$) for both. My personal feeling is that it would be fun to Test and Tune against the Impalas but my preference for the V8 Bracket would be to keep it purely V8 BUICK POWER. But let's hear what you guys want. FYI I'll post another poll to get a head count started on who 'thinks' they can be in LV in October, who will try, who is definite, etc. Thanks for participating.
