    Hello
Im Steve in Texas, I joined here maybe 4-5 years ago, and lurk around now and then. Finally I got a GS.
Just bought a one owner 71 Buick 350 GS
He couldnt find the title so he applied for a new one. I paid him and transfered it to my name.
In a stack of papers in the trunk was the dealer envelope with the original owners manual, original title, the original order form, a small folder with the key codes, and the Protecto Plate! There are also almost all the tag registration papers through the years. Invoices from work performed on the car. Lots of paper work. I havnt had a chance to look for a build sheet yet. It is a true GS, im just learning about these great cars. I just brought it home 2 days ago with some extra parts. It does run (kind of). Has a Edeljunk carb on it, which will go away soon. My long term goal was to have the 4 GM performance cars. I have a 65 Vette, 67 Olds 442, 73 Pontiac TA, and now a 71 Buick GS. Its a bench seat column shift. Lightish green with black interior, black vinyl top. Im pretty excited about it, and hope to get busy on it soon, but its not the only thing on my list. So it may go slow at first.
Anyway thats enough for now, im at work and cant load pics from here.
Ill probably ask alot of questions, there seems to be some great knowlegable people here.
I can already say i will need a good front bumper, and a good console and shifter. I plan to convert it to buckets and console. I guess that would require a floor shift steering column too.
Glad to make my first post.
    More to come.
    Steve

    Hey thanks for the welcome.
Im excited to see if theres a build sheet in the car. It has a Z in the VIN.
    Thats Framington, CA?
My Olds is M for Lansing, they did not put in build sheets.
Ill try to upload pics, so far i only have 2, they were taken in the dark. IMG_0697[1].JPG IMG_0698[1].JPG

Steve that's a great car! I love the color combo.
IMHO it's hard to beat Silver Fern with black top and interior!

I sold a 71 Stage 1 to Alain on here back in 2017 and he did an amazing frame-off in less than a year! You can read about it in the "Members Rides" section, look for "71 Stage 1 Silver Fern."

Here some pics just to whet your appetite...

Love that color my self. Don't see many like that.

Take all the paper work and stick in a folder in the safe.
I tried those 3 ring binders with some of the paper work and very few people thru the summer shows and week night cruieses bothered looking at them.

I just copied the window sticker price and the Option one price sheet and display them on an easel.
A few people do look at that and comment on the price of the car in 1985.

Being in th eFlint area lot of people tell me they probably worked onour car as it went down the line.
I just laugh, ask if they lived near Kanasa City then. that is wher eour Buick was built.
