    Hi All,
I have a 69 Wildcat Custom with the 430ci engine. The "Stop Engine" light (In the TEMP area) started coming on and flashing at start up. Wiring or temp sensor issue? The weird thing about this is that it started at the same time as I was removing the blinker flasher? Are these wired together? Will replace the flasher this week...

Also, I am curious about the light right next to it? The lens is cracked and dark so I cannot tell what it is for? Anybody know?

    Thanks!
    Rick

i dont think your flasher is connected to it. the stop light bulb usually is a speacial bulb with a flasher built right into the bulb. so any time it has power and ground it will flash.

now lets see whats making it flash.

with the car engine totally cool...
disconnect the wire from the sensor and connect a lead of a multimeter set to ohms to the sensor and connect the meters other lead to ground.
make sure you are not touching the leads or you might get an incorrect reading.
the reading should show an open load. if it shows like 5 ohms or less, the sensor is bad.

ALSO....while the sensor's wire is disconnected, while making sure it doesnt ground out... start the car and see if you have the same problem you had when the sensor was plugged in.
if you still have the problem, its a wiring issue.

    post your results.

    Yuk,
Thank you for the info! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Work has been a bear so I have not had a chance to take a further look, but will post once I do. Thanks again.
