If I could make a suggestion....Seems you have a lot of questions regarding this parts car/ project your working on. Might be a better idea to consolidate all your questions into one thread. Something like- "Questions about how to take apart a parts car" or similar. That way all the questions are in one spot.

Stripping? You mean rubber weatherstripping or the stainless steel molding? Is it a 4 door hardtop or a 4 door sedan? The more info you can provide, the better chance we have of giving you a good answer:TU:

Hey Jason, thanks for the quick reply. It took me a few days to get use to this site. It is the stainless molding, from a 4 door sedan.

Not to sound like a jerk, but why? Its worthless. Don't waste your time, you have bigger fish to fry. I take it your parting this car out? The only parts that are going to be worth something are parts that will interchange with a 2 door. That's the sad fact. Ive parted out one or two of these cars. In a nutshell, save-

Everything from the firewall forward. Forward lamp harness, engine harness, wipers, wiper transmission, master and booster, all the disc brake stuff (if it has it). If the control arms are clean, save them. If they're scaled up with rust, don't bother. Prop valve and bracket on the frame just to name a few parts. You should have 2 bare frame rails if you did it right. As far as the hood, save the front hood molding. That's a $50 piece if all the studs are intact and it looks good. Chuck the hood.

Interior- Dash pad, instrument cluster. All the ventilation stuff under the dash including the V shaped defroster duct. Dash harness, gas pedal, etc. Pull the horn relay, save all the factory nuts, screws, fasteners and clips. Radio, radio face plate, Grab the front speaker bracket. That's a $20 item right there. The dash should be bare as a chicken bone when your done. Pull the kick panels, steering column. The only other thing in the interior that going to swap over to a 2 door are the front armrests. Everything else is worthless. Also pull all the mirrors- inside and out. The drivers remote mirror is worth something if its in decent shape.

Pull all the marker lights, ALL the wheel well moldings. If all the wheel well moldings are in good shape and clean, that's $200 beans. Rear window stainless, rear defroster if it has one. Rear bumper, jack stuff, etc.

Im sure I forgot to list a few things but you get the idea. Taking parts cars apart is THE BEST way to learn how things come apart. Go to George's website and bang around on there. He has some good tutorials about taking off dash pads, instrument clusters etc.

    Hope this helps
