As I am writing this my crew is still washing up from a call for a shooting at a local pub. This pub is a local hangout for retired cops , their wives and friends. This place is close to my home and work. I still have to work for another 4 years. I wonder if I will make it.

I have never owned a gun but tomorrow I will. The hammer attack sunday morning and now this. I just cannot believe what my city has come to.

    Wow, can't even imangine.
As a gun owner I will say this, it gives me great ease knowing I have at least some ability to protect my family and friends.

Take care...prayers out for you and yours.

I wish you peace and peace of mind. A firearm responsibly carried is a good thing.
So somebody shot up a cop bar? Or did he try and got shot?

I've wondered how things were, but I agree. Carry is a good thing it seems. Prayers to you and family John.

Very sorry to read this. Some people just don't appreciate the job you do. You never know if even a 'routine' traffic stop is going to be someone out to kill you. Without any law enforcement, thugs would rule the Earth and only those who are well armed and on their guard at all times would be safe. It is my belief that if all responsible adults were armed, the crime rate would drop. Thugs and bullies only prey on those they deem as weaker. If they even think that law abiding folks are armed, their cowardice expands greatly and they are less likely to attack.
My prayers are for You and Your fellow law enforcement officers safety.

Near closing time 3 would be robbers entered Pooh's Corner Bar. 2 came in the front door and one through the only other door on the side. Demanding everyone get down. When an elderly woman couldn't or wouldn't do as ordered she was shot in the back of the head. She appears to be brain dead just not unhooked from life support. The retired police officer and sometimes bar tender who shot back was hit. 2 other patrons (veterans) were hit One robber the shooter I think was hit in the eye, a second was hit and showed up at a local hospital with a story of being shot on Florissant Rd ( yeah if that sounds familiar it runs through Ferguson) but upon questioning he admitted he was at the Bar. A third suspect escaped. The youngest patron of this bar looked to be at least 55 years old.
The local media will not say what color the slimeballs were but I will. The hammer attack was carried out by 3 black teenagers and one hispanic. The bar it was 3 black males. Our police chief stated that the hammer attack could not have been a hate crime even with reports of racial slurs being thrown around while they beat a white Bosnian to death in front of his family and soon to be wife.
Now I am learning that the asshat that screamed "Burn this B!%ch down 9 times in Ferguson will not be charged with inciting a riot. We have never heard if Mike Browns Mother will face charges in the robbery and beating of her own mother with a pipe over the selling of Mike Brown T's. Eric Holder is going to seek an indictment for violation of civil rights against the police officer. A state judge is considering using a seldom used law used to get around a prosecutor that's either not doing his job or is somehow conflicted. There may still be another grand jury over this mess. Double jeopardy isn't at play since he was not charged.
All I can say is I will do what I have to do to protect my family and my possessions.

Laws that are selectively applied was one of the many reasons our Forefathers declared our independence from the tyranny of the British Empire. And it may well cause another type of revolution that, trust me, no one wants.

Sorry to hear it. My thoughts go out to you and those affected by the incident. What is going on there and in the media is complete BS.

wow just unreal John. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Up untill a couple years ago I was not a firearm owner but just could not go any longer, its a good thing and a right. Not a bad idea to stock up or more ammo then you think you need as well. Can't have too much. There have been shortages.

Prayers to your family, colleagues and people in your community. I can't imagine what is going on or how I'd react if it was in my town.

I carry every day and don't know if there will be a day I don't. It's sad what this country has come to.
